In the center of the composition, St. Apollonia is kneeling, bound and hands crossed on his chest, wearing a white cloth. This grisaille painting is most likely a modelletto grisaille for burning Marinus executed in 1629 after "The Saint Apollonia martyr". This table ordered for an altar of the Augustinian church in Antwerp it was installed in 1628, along with a painting by Rubens and Van Dyck another.
